NATASHA MARIN is a classical pianist who was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. She began her piano studies at age 6. By age 10 she was playing in competitions and prestigious concert halls. At the same time she was accepted to the Special Music School for Gifted Children. Her education continued with Professor Leonid Sintsev, under whom she graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov Music College with honors and received her master’s degree in piano performance from the St. Petersburg State Conservatory. Later Natasha also studied with Professor Vitaly Margulis.
Natasha Marin enjoys working as a soloist, in ensembles and with orchestra. She was featured on the radio and TV, recorded and has been performing extensively in Europe and in the United States appearing in venues such as St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall in Russia, Comerica Theater in Phoenix, AZ, Leo Bing Theater, Zipper Hall and Thorne Hall in Los Angeles among others. Her latest collaborations include performances with Santa Cecilia Orchestra and chamber performances in Los Angeles and Miami.
Her piano duo “Double Sharp” with Maria Demina has premiered in June 2008 in Los Angeles, won the Grand Prize at the regional piano duo competition and has been appearing nationwide in live concerts and on the radio. The program features music of Russian Romantic and 20th century composers and incorporates an innovative presentation with custom designed costumes by Vera DeFehr. “Double Sharp” made special appearances at charity events for Robert Shapiro’s Foundation and Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Foundation.
Together with acclaimed French soprano Nicol Mecerova Natasha Marin created “Voyage a Paris,” program spanning 200 years of the French Art Song. Their performances were enthusiastically received in the US and Russia.
Aside from classical repertoire Natasha Marin has lent her talent for the recording of the album “Siren” by Sasha and Shawna produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Peter Asher. Natasha also performs with actor/comedian Cheech Marin. Together they appeared at the Hollywood Bowl, the Inaugural Gala for the Valley Performing Arts Center of the California State University, Northridge and Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN.
Natasha Marin moved to the United States in 1995. She resides in Malibu, CA with her husband actor/comedian Cheech Marin.
